Harry: Chocolate Cake Nirvana

My sister-in-law Karie (who also doubles as my fantabulous assistant) is quite a talented baker. She brought some sinful chocolate cake to my house for Christmas, and I decided to let Harry have a piece this morning for breakfast. Apologies in advance for making you hungry.








I know, I'm such a weirdo for posting pics of my kid eating Christmas leftovers when I should be posting snapshots of him opening presents. Well as you know I have a weird tendency to buck tradition! HA! The truth is the only place in my house that has desirable light is my dining room. Go figure! :D)

Took Harrison out for a shoot yesterday to celebrate the turn in the weather, and wanted to share my favorite shot. His second birthday is in three weeks, I can't believe it! Note the really warm, soft quality of the light; this is why taking pictures an hour before sunset is the most desirable. It doesn't wash out colors or cast hard shadows like mid-day sun.

Happy New Year!

One of my 2007 resolutions was to start a blog, and share more of my work and life with every one of you! This past year has been filled with so many wonderful blessings. My little boy, Harrison, is growing like a weed! As many of you know, he's been my muse all along....tolerating mommy's incessant shutter-bugging since the moment he was born.

He is the reason I wake up every morning, and my motivation for working so hard at growing my photography business. More than anything else, my role as a mother inspires me to capture the poignant beauty in each and every one of your lives.
